Erw Gerrig Holiday Cottage - Disability Access Statement
Guidelines issued by the Welsh Tourist Board requires all holiday properties to make a Disability Access Statement available to all guests before booking.
Outside The Cottage
Erw Gerrig Holiday Cottage sits in the heart of the steep sided Ceiriog Valley in a raised position. Access by car is up the drive to the rear of the cottages, the first part of which is quite steep but which then flattens out. The parking for Erw Gerrig Cottage is on a flat area.
Access from the parking area is down two sets of slightly narrow and rustic stone steps with hand rails. At the bottom of the steps there is a level gravel pathwhich leads to the front or rear door. Access to the front door is probably easier due to the nature of the steps.
Outside the doors to the cottages are a couple of stone steps. The doors are standard width.
There are external lights around the cottages lighting the paths to the front and rear. These lights come on at dusk and switch off at about midnight. The cottage has a light outside the front door which can be switched on at anytime independently by the guests.
Inside The Cottage
The cottages have standard width doors throughout. The kitchen, sitting room and dining area in both cottages have standard furniture.
Standard stairs rise to upstairs with a handrail on one side. There are lights at the top and the bottom of the stairs.
The area around the cottages is generally steep, although the lane outside is smooth and only slightly sloping.
Access for less able guests may be difficult, depending on how limited their mobility is. Wheelchair access would be particularly difficult due to the nature of the surrounding area.
If you have any concerns regarding access for any of your party, please contact us before booking.
